Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

CAPS offers short-term, goal directed treatment which may include screenings, crisis intervention, individual one-on-one counseling, group therapy, referrals, and medication. CAPS provides workshops and trainings to staff and students. CAPS also offers sexual violence prevention education and response through the Campus Assault Resources and Education (CARE) program. CAPS is available to all registered students. Prepaid for students with USHIP, students without USHIP pay $15.00 a session.

Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center

UCLA [FITTED]

Fitness Improvement Training through Exercise and Diet [FITTED] is a student-initiated, student-run program established in the Community Programs Office in 2010. This program is designed to raise and retain students’ consciousness of holistic health by providing free fitness and health education services to UCLA student leaders. FITTED incorporates dialogue and collaboration amongst diverse student groups to create a welcoming environment that promotes personal growth and wellness as a lifestyle. FITTED’s ultimate goal is to assist students in incorporating healthy habits into all aspects of their lives for many years to come. A healthy Bruin mind starts with a healthy Bruin body. LGBT Center at UCLA

The David Bohnett CyberCenter, the first of its kind at a college or university, was established in 2004 within the LGBT Center through a generous grant from the David Bohnett Foundation. It is designed as a safe space for students to use new computers, print papers, and scan articles and photos. Since 2004, the foundation has funded the UCLA LGBT Campus resource center with close to five grand to greatly advocate for the LGBT community on campus.

GRIT Peer Coaching Program

The GRIT Peer Coaching program is committed to the development and well-being of the whole student. GRIT stands for guidance, resilience, integrity and transformation.  In this program, UCLA students receive individualized support from trained peer coaches, with the aims of enhancing overall well-being and improving academic and personal success by utilizing various strategies for empowerment.  Topic areas that peer coaches focus on during their one-on-one sessions with students include stress management and mindfulness, fostering positive social connections, goal setting, academic skills enrichment and navigating campus resources.

Housing Resources

ECRT Emergency Housing

Location: 2131 Murphy Hall

If a student is in an economic crisis and/or is in need of housing assistance, s/he/they can e-mail the committee. A response to the student will be provided within 24 hours. Once a student contacts ECR TEAM, their financial needs are assessed, and if housing is needed, the student will be offered a room in University-owned property for up to 14 days. ecr@saonet.ucla.edu.

Housing Opportunities for Meaningful Education (HOME)

In conjunction with the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs offices, HRC provides low cost residential community for students who demonstrate academic excellence, financial need and travel great distance. In exchange for reduced housing costs, HOME students commit to 30 hours of campus or community service per month.
