The AAP Graduate Mentor and Research Programs (GMRP) Office offers several resources including the GMRP Graduate and Professional School Resource Library, which has graduate and professional school application resources that you can borrow free of cost at any time during the year, as well as several research program for undergraduate students that are usually applicable to upperclassmen (second year freshmen and transfer students and up), where AAP students have the opportunity to learn about research and obtain valuable research-oriented academic preparation in the social sciences, arts, and humanities. GMRP is committed to social justice and to the transformation of the academy. In this effort, a special emphasis is made to increase the number of low-income and ethnically underrepresented students in graduate or professional school and in professional academic and research positions. These research programs also encourage students to participate in service learning opportunities and community-based research projects in order to transform their undergraduate experience. Additionally, there are counselors available within the office that can answer any questions you may have about graduate school and applying to graduate school. It is never too early to go in and speak to a counselor about future plans! Counselors themselves can lead to you to other amazing resources on campus! For more information about the resources available, please stop by their office in 1202 Campbell Hall or them at (310) 794-4186.
